2019 – Kings Forest Neighborhood celebrates Greensboro’s Neighborhood Arts Residency
Greensboro, NC – 2019 – The Kings Forest Arts Residency was a six-month community-centered initiative designed to foster art that reflects the pride and cultural legacy of the Kings Forest neighborhood. Led by TAB Arts Center in partnership with Creative Greensboro, the residency brought together residents and artists Mary Ryan, Schala Harper, and Sunny Gravely-Foushee to co-create public artworks that captured the spirit of the community. The project featured a painted basketball court, artistically enhanced park benches, and sidewalk tributes honoring six local icons. Through collaborative design and hands-on participation, the residency strengthened neighborhood identity and connection, empowering residents to celebrate their shared history through art.
