2020 – Virtual Panel regarding community arts, politics, and equity

Greensboro, NC – September 2020TAB Arts Center hosted a powerful virtual panel discussion featured by The A&T Register, focusing on the intersection of community arts, politics, and equity in Greensboro. Moderated by Sunny Gravely-Foushee, co-founder and executive director of TAB Arts Center and co-owner of The Artist Bloc, the panel brought together six respected leaders from local arts organizations to examine systemic inequities in funding and representation for artists of color. Panelists included representatives from Arts Greensboro, Creative Greensboro, Casa Azul, The Artist Bloc, Royal Expressions, and NC A&T, who openly discussed the historical barriers, funding disparities, and the lack of representation at decision-making tables within the arts community. The conversation illuminated the urgent need for inclusivity and structural change in how resources are distributed and emphasized the importance of empowering Black and Brown-led arts organizations. The event reinforced TAB Arts Center’s mission to spark dialogue, challenge injustice, and advocate for equitable access to the arts across all communities in Greensboro.
