2020 – Say it Loud Street Mural

Greensboro, NC – 2020 – The Say It Loud Street Mural, completed in July 2020 on Lindsay Street in Downtown Greensboro, was a powerful public art project led by TAB Arts Center Nonprofit in collaboration with artists Sunny Gravely-Foushee and Schala Harper. Inspired by James Brown’s anthem “Say It Loud – I’m Black and I’m Proud,” the mural was created during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic and in response to the murder of George Floyd. Designed with bold colors and symbols of resilience and pride, the mural honors local Black leaders and amplifies community voices that have long been unheard. Supported by the City of Greensboro and The Arts Council of Greater Greensboro, this impactful work transformed a public street into a vibrant space for cultural expression, remembrance, and empowerment.
